Think Pink at Pink Pony Tail Salon Along With ultratress
Showed Creative Support for the Susan G. Kommen ‘Think Pink’ Campaign

October was a month when millions of Americans were caught up in the Susan G. Kommen’s ‘Think Pink’ programs to promote Breast Cancer Awarness and ultimately, to find a cure. Making women aware of the need for self-exams and having a mammogram was a cause embraced by groups large and small.

No place was this effort to get women to ‘Think Pink’ more apparent than at the Pink Pony Tail Salon, in Coral Springs, FL. Owner-designers Semie Saramoot and Michael Dow styled two attractive models with ultratress pink extensions as well as offering their clients a pink human hair extension in exchange for a donation.

“Our ‘Think Pink’ themed entourage visited local beauty salons in Coral Springs, Tamarac and Sunrise, reminding them to ‘Think Pink’ and promote Mammogram and self-exams to their clients,” Semie Saramoot noted. “We also gave each woman an instruction sheet on the latest protocols for self-examinations.”

Each stylist’s contribution was rewarded with a pink hair extension to wear to emphasize the ‘Think Pink’ campaign, helping to spread the word among their clients. At each salon, there was a breast cancer story that struck a common chord. “Someone knew someone who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer… others talked of a friend who was a ‘breast cancer survivor’,” Michael Dow mused “The comradery among women was quite exceptional and touching reminders of how important the Susan G. Kommen Foundation’s work really is. It also echoed the importance of their mission and how everyone can make a difference in helping to find a cure.”
